Headless WordPress starter

A decoupled front end that keeps the editor experience intact and does not rebuild the whole site for one typo.

Most headless setups trade a good editing experience for a fast front end. This one tries to keep both, by treating WordPress as the content API rather than as a database with a REST endpoint bolted on.

What it keeps

  • Block editing, unchanged, including the media library.
  • Draft preview against the real front end.
  • Incremental rebuilds keyed on post ID rather than a full rebuild.

What it gives up

Plugin-provided front-end behaviour. Any plugin that assumes it can print markup into wp_head stops working, and pretending otherwise is how these projects fail late rather than early.
